I have discovered where the tradition of the christmas
tree came from. And it is not pagan. An article in a
local paper claims that Boniface the Bishop of Crediton
in Devon went to convert the Germans. he rescued a boy
being sacrificed to pagans gods on an oak tree.
Boniface cut down the tree and up sprang an evergreen.
hey presto. evergreen a symbol of everlasting love.
Boniface was later cut down by an angry German who was
not impressed by this desecration of a pagan holy tree.
however Boniface is now patron saint of germany Holland
and shortly to become saint of the EU. How is that for
a Devon lad. And the pilgrim fathers sailed from
plymouth too.
The symbol of the Christmas tree came over to Britain
with Victoria and her German family.
Enjoy the day, and a happy Christmas toall, pagans and
athieists t
